About Me

Welcome to my website!

My name is Angela Kim Harkins (she/hers). I teach and research in the areas of Second Temple Judaism and Christian Origins. I am currently a Professor / Professor Ordinaria at Boston College Clough School of Theology and Ministry (USA), where I have been since 2015. I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up on the northwest-side of Chicago, Illinois. I live in Boston (West Roxbury), MA with my husband, our son, and our cheerful and chatty Lakeland Terrier, Chloe Kim Barkins.

NEW: Listen to a podcast of my new book, An Embodied Reading of the Shepherd of Hermas: The Book of Visions and its Role in Moral Formation (Equinox, 2023).

Interested in music? Here is a link to my son’s violin performance of Pablo de Sarasate (Joey Harkins, Jan 15, 2024).
